We spent an afternoon baby proofing our living room for Hudson. We used two 192″ Regalo fences with gates to block off the living room along with furniture straps for the TV and table.

We needed a better way to mount Hudson’s baby monitor when visiting other people’s houses. The curve in the wood was just decorative. I wanted to experiment with alternatives to steam bending wood. Versions 1 through 3 were not my proudest moments, but the final product actually clamps extremely well.

Our son was born happy and healthy Monday morning at 8:32AM. 6lbs 9oz. The experience here in Costa Rica was extraordinary. We can’t wait to tell you about it!
Giving birth abroad has been something we’ve been thinking about since backpacking Europe. We discovered the rest of the world is not very accommodating to people with US passports, since we are so strict with immigration here in the States.
We also thought dual citizenship would be an extremely cool/useful/valuable gift we could give our children. After ruling out Europe and Canada, we found Costa Rica.
Our tickets and AirBnb is booked, and appointments are made. This is happening for real!
