enjoyed the show. I found my way here thru your Jim Collins interview. My first wife and I started with joint finances but found we were always broke. We both felt out of control and powerless. We continued joint when my wife started college after a couple years of marriage until she finished and started working. Then we switched to separate. At first I made more and covered most of the expenses. Later we made closer to similar amounts and split expenses more evenly. It was during this time that we paid off our house in 4 1/2 years. Our goals were not in line so we definitely did better with separate finances.
