In this episode we help John build an oversized sewing/quilting table that he bought the plans for 10 years ago! It’s made of simple 1×4 pine and plywood components. It has loads of storage and a built in ironing board!

In this episode we build a kid’s loft bunk bed with built-in homework desk, storage bench, and reading area. All of the stair steps have hidden drawers with plenty of space on the bookshelves and night stand for everything a kid could want!
How to install an alarm system on an enclosed utility trailer with siren, brake lock, and text message notifications. We have the option of arming with either a keypad in the trailer or key fab outside.
Thank you Trailer-Alarms.com for putting this system together for us!

The install took about 8 hours, but we have more openings than the average trailer. Something I didn’t mention is that you can change the timing of the exit/entry and the sensitivity of the accelerometer.
Makers on the Move is officially happening! We’ve decided we’re going to start our new adventure October 24th.
Here’s the plan – You submit a project idea that you’d like to build with us at makersonthemove.tv. If selected, we’ll work over email to come up with a design you like. You buy the materials and we’ll cover everything else.
We’ll come in our RV with the Ultimate Mobile Workshop and film the process from start to finish. We’re looking for fun, unique, and interesting projects that can be completed in a weekend (or week if your schedule allows).
Looking forward to meeting you!

How to build cabinets with two way drawer slides. I decided to start work on the miter saw and drill press station in the Ultimate Mobile Workshop. At each end of the bench are a set of cabinet drawers that can be accessed from inside or outside the trailer.
I used adjustable ball catches to keep the drawers locked in place and 3/8″ bolts in a groove as drawer stops. The bench height ended up a little higher than I would have wanted (39″) because of the layout of the trailer doors.

Sidenote: I was amazed how well paste wax worked to make wooden drawers slide smooth.

With a long rig I knew we would want a tire pressure monitoring system. I did some research, and Tire Minder kept coming up again and again. After talking with the company, they sent us a whole system for the RV and trailer. The peace of mind is nice, since the trailer tires are 65′ back, and could potentially blow without noticing on a rig this size. Thank you Minder Research!
The Ultimate Mobile Workshop trailer has been delivered! It turned out so much better than we could have hoped. Now we get to the fun part of building out the whole interior with benches, cabinets, and storage.
The biggest thank you to Lark United Manufacturing!
